Danish floor lamp called 'trombone' designed by jo hammerborg in the 1960s. The lamp was manufactured by the renowned company fog & mørup where hammerborg was also chief designer. This stylish floor lamp is in good vintage condition with minor signs of wear that are typical of its age. These are light scratches on the hood that are hardly noticeable. The trombone is a timeless lamp that was one of hammerborg's favorites. After serving as a saboteur in the danish resistance during world war ii, jo hammerborg studied at the royal danish academy of art, after which he worked as a silversmith with georg jensen. In 1957 he was appointed as a hood designer at the danish lighting manufacturer fog & mørup where he worked until 1980. Under his leadership, the company experienced its most creative and commercially successful period. He has contributed to more than 180 different lamp designs, some of which have won international prizes. Hammerborg died in a parachute jump in 1982.
