This pretty dressing table combines the beauty of a superbly crafted mahogany veneer on solid oak with elegant marquetry. The marquetry is both superb and discreet. The finesse and precision of the work are remarkable. This Louis XVI style dressing table opens with a central flap that locks with a key (key present) and two side flaps accessible only after opening the middle one. On top, all three are inlaid with discreet friezes, framed with threads of various colors. The interior is composed of 3 separate compartments, left, center and right. The central flap is adorned with a framed mirror that can be moved forward or back to the edges of the piece of furniture and thus adjusted to the person looking at it. Under the central compartment, there is a pull covered with green leather decorated with a frieze, then below again, a new drawer also inlaid and decorated with a button for opening. On the right, the second drawer opens under the compartment and the sides of the piece of furniture are obviously inlaid identically. One of the two, on the left, is a trompe-l'oeil. This very pretty dressing table (early 20th century) rests on 4 straight tapered legs and decorated with pretty bronze sabots. It also offers multiple possibilities for places in the house as varied as a bedroom, an entrance, an office, a living room... According to your uses and your tastes!
