Pair of old earthenware raviers for plants

Old raviers, oval earthenware dishes to use to deposit plants and decorate a vintage table. The largest louis XV style dish is richly decorated in cobalt blue with 3 different and off-center patterns, offering many scroll movements. The large drawing is like a cartouche presenting a cherub or putto opening the door of a cage to free a bird in the tumult of the heavens. The scene, an allegory of love, is framed by curved borders and asymmetrical counter-curves. The second art deco dish features a two-tone black and orange geometric pattern, inspired by nature evoking fruit on a trellis. It is signed on the saint-amand ceramic back. Note a lack on the large ravier, visible in photos. Dimensions (cm): w37.5 X d24.5 X h3.5 and w32.5 X d23 X h4.5. Net weight 1.6kg.
