Here is a work by paul morchain dating from the 30s. It represents a breton port. The fishermen come back with the tenders, we see a, boats in the background. The colors are beautiful, characteristic of the works of this artist. Paul morchain (1876-1939) student at the ecole des beaux-arts in paris, he will be appointed painter of the navy in 1921. Paul morchain will become a regular in douarnenez and its region. Working in the regionalist movement, he established himself as a major painter of the country of cornwall. Very influenced by the style and theme of the painters of pont-aven, his painting transcribes the atmosphere of local life and the sincerity of genre scenes. This work has been restored. The work is in a good state of conservation, for the most picky we report friction in the form of small white dots on the group of characters down on the dock, friction at the top above the sailboat, as well as small spots in various places. Note slight friction and gilding wear on the frame. For the state thank you to detail the photos. A4611. Feel free to zoom in. Photos are an integral part of the description. Size: Frame.
