Tibetan or Chinese Rug: 130 x 200 cm - This rug features several characteristics more commonly associated with Tibetan rugs influenced by Chinese art, rather than a pure classic Chinese rug. The deep red background with symmetrical patterns and Greek-style borders is common in ancient Tibetan rugs. The central floral medallion and stylised motifs evoke Tibetan Buddhist decorations. The geometric corners and the red/blue/cream palette are very typical of early 20th-century Tibetan productions.
