Art Nouveau vase in polychrome barbotine. Attributed to the Onnaing Faïencerie. Circa 1890-1910. This piece has been passed down in my family for several generations. It comes from a maternal lineage and has accompanied our family history since the time of its creation. More than a century after its birth, this vase has retained all the delicacy that characterises the most beautiful Art Nouveau ceramics. The raised pansies seem to bloom around the neck in a play of volumes and colours where deep purples, bright yellows, rosy hues, and aquamarine respond to each other with great softness. Its slender body is animated by vertical ribs that naturally extend the movement of the flowers down to the base. More than just a simple vase, it is a piece whose presence almost evokes a decorative sculpture. The interior is entirely glazed in a soft pink. The underside bears its manufacturing number, visible among the photographs. The vase is in very good condition. It has a very slight old hairline, discreet and visible in photo 7. This remains barely perceptible once the vase is displayed and does not detract from its decorative presence. A piece full of character, representative of the craftsmanship of French manufacturers from the late 19th century, which will naturally find its place with an Art Nouveau enthusiast or a collector of antique ceramics. The vase will be carefully protected and shipped with the utmost care to ensure its arrival in the best conditions.
