Napoleon III style mirror

✺ Grand mirror in Napoléon III style ✺ Completely renovated and painted in a bright grey-green. Its original bevelled glass shows fine speckles evenly distributed across its surface. The richly carved frame retains some irregularities and signs of use. The restoration has deliberately preserved this character rather than seeking to erase its history. This is not a piece with perfectly smooth and uniform finishes, but an antique mirror with character, possessing a beautiful presence. The pediment can be removed if desired. Please note that its nesting system reveals the fixing points on the top of the frame when it is removed. Personally, I consider this pediment to be the centrepiece of the mirror: it is what gives it its entire identity. W91 X H142 X D13.5 cm. 📏 Dimensions taken at the widest point.
