Evolving baby and child bed made of painted solid wood from the 1950s.

This magnificent vintage basket bed from the 1950s perfectly illustrates period furniture made of painted solid wood. Its unique structure with enveloping lines and elegant curved legs makes it a piece full of poetry. The "basket" shape of the rounded bed foot creates a protective cocoon very typical of the post-war era. It has been hand-decorated with a silhouette of a night blue swallow, the poetic symbol that heralds the return of spring and beautiful days. In a soft and soothing cloud blue color, it has developed a patina of sea green in places. The mattress is made of pure wool, custom-made at the time. The slatted base is topped with another metal spring base (which can be easily removed), allowing this bed to adapt to the child's age. Everything is clean; the underside of the mattress has been stained by rust from the metal frame. There are signs of wear on the painted wooden frame. Delivered disassembled. 149.5 X 65 X H 74.5 cm.
