This characterful French country bench features a high panelled back, sturdy armrests, and a simple, robust construction. The combination of walnut and pine, along with visible signs of age and use, gives the bench an authentic rustic appearance. Part of the wooden seat is hinged and lifts to reveal a practical storage compartment underneath. Originally designed as a functional piece of furniture, it can still be used today as a storage bench, hall bench, or entrance bench. The bench is in good antique condition with wear consistent with its age.
