Set of 6 champagne glasses called trinquettes or cul sec. At their base, they are marked "henri maire", famous french winemaker (born july 16, 1917 and died november 28, 2003, ) who gave a strong identity to the jura vineyard. Diamond point decoration. 20th century period. As they cannot be placed down, the glasses must be emptied of their contents, forcing their user to drink all of the liquid. Legend has it that the first champagne glass was molded on the breast of marie-antoinette, queen of france and wife of louis XVI. Others claim that it was molded on the breast of the marquise de pompadour (1721-1764) who was the favorite mistress of louis XV. As for the flute, it appeared much later. Several glasses are available. 30 in total. Very good condition.
