Spoon vase

A beautifully understated EPNS ice tongs holder or bar utensil vase by Kirby Beard & Co Paris, a celebrated Anglo-French retailer known for elegant silverware and luxury table pieces in the late 19th and early 20th century. Marked “Kirby Beard & Co Paris – Made in England – EPNS, ” this petite piece has the refined simplicity of classic French hotel silverware, with its clean cylindrical form, rolled pedestal base and charming double ring handles. Traditionally used for storing ice tongs beside a champagne bucket or drinks tray, it also works beautifully for cocktail stirrers, olive picks or small serving utensils. Its polished silver-plated finish catches the light beautifully and gives it that timeless old-world café and grand hotel feel collectors love. This piece has a lovely weight in the hand and displays beautifully from every angle. The silver plate has developed a soft aged patina with light surface scratches and gentle signs of use consistent with age, adding to its authentic character. There is minor wear to the plating inside the base and faint age-related marks throughout, but overall it remains a very handsome and highly usable decorative piece.
