Bench - Wood and straw cantou

Very pretty bench in wood and straw, called "cantou" in dordogne. Very old, traditional, very rare to find in this condition. In fact it was placed in the large fireplaces, along one of the side walls (hence the armrest on one side, the other being at the back, against the corner) to warm up near the fire during the cooking a pot, or for precision work (knitting / cross stitch / lace) which required remaining static, therefore quickly getting cold hands/feet. Today it will be perfect for an entrance or a child's bedroom, at the end of a sofa or bed, ... It will find its place in a contemporary decor to give it an authentic and unique touch. Very good condition of the straw, probably redone in the last 10 years, wooden structure (treated) also in good condition considering its age (more than 100 years). Dimensions: h armrest 62 cm, h seat 40 cm, l 89 cm, d 35.5 cm, d seat 29.5 cm.
