Louis XV castle mirror
Imposing castle mirror in Louis XV style, in good general condition. Small spots on the mirror but nothing exceptional considering its age, traces of hanging on the sides, this mirror was certainly placed above a fireplace. The back is in good condition, fitted with its original boards. The copper-toned gilding is the result of applying a patina or varnish to mask the "gold" appearance, as was fashionable in the early 20th century. In some places, the original gold leaf is still visible, well present throughout the frame. A few cracks in the stucco but nothing serious or broken. This mirror comes from a castle in the Nantes region and was retrieved during a renovation a few decades ago.
