Louis XIII style armchair, carved walnut, leather with brass studs, 19th century.
Louis XIII style armchair made of solid wood, walnut or oak, with a fully carved structure. The rectangular frame backrest is adorned with scrolls and small flowers; the scroll-shaped armrests end in sculpted acanthus leaf heads. The baluster legs, turned with a square section and decorated with floral motifs, are connected by a finely carved H-shaped stretcher. The upholstery combines natural tanned leather in cognac for the backrest and dark burgundy leather for the seat, both secured with brass nails shaped like stars or diamonds. The back of the backrest is covered with an original antique jute fabric. The whole piece shows a patina and wear consistent with its age: patinated wood, leather marked and slightly cracked in places, oxidized nails. These signs of life attest to the authenticity of the piece, made in the Louis XIII style, likely at the end of the 19th century. With its generous dimensions and presence, this armchair is suitable as both a desk seat and a decorative piece of character. Dimensions: H. 110 cm × W. 60 cm × D. 50 cm — Weight: 8 kg.
