When you see him, it's impossible to take his eyes off! This magnificent pitcher caught my eye by its very pretty blue color pulling towards turquoise, by its very raw appearance, very artisanal, and by all its "defects" that testify to a very advanced age and a busy life! Probably a 19th century pottery made on the farm for family use... Its new life will only be decorative and it is already a lot, it has lived well but deserves a place of choice in your interior: given its age and condition, it can no longer serve as a pitcher, or even as a flower vase (or for dried flowers) because it has been pierced and equipped with a "tube" for I do not know what reason! It is made of terracotta, sandstone it seems to me, very raw, with roughness, defects, then was painted a first time in red probably because we see some red spots under the layer of turquoise paint. Inside hides a "proof" of his age (it dates at least from 1949 but it most probably much older) that I let you discover (i managed to get it out and I decided to put it back in place)... We discern the pipe that still appears on the edge of the drilling, and newspaper clippings (and the article that allowed me to date the newspaper is topical to say the least... In the sense of peace so dear today in our eyes!).you will certainly manage to get them out with a little patience (if you can't, contact me, I have another solution, but i'll let you look for a little; )... Lover of discoveries and small pleasures related to the history of a very old object, this pitcher is made for you! It is therefore in its juice, barely rid of its dust and some recent stains, with all its defects and traces of the past time: various stains, numerous paint chips, asperities and various marks. It is 15 cm high, about 13 cm wide and weighs 860 g.
