Born in 1999, the bishop is india’s masterpiece. Originally designed as a bar stool for the famous new york club apt. The bishop has evolved through the years and has now integrated the permanent collection of the museum of decorative arts in paris. The fishop is to chess what the bishop is to furniture: he preferred the diagonal to the straight line. Both gueridon and stool, it comes in 20 colors. In order to enrich its function, india designed accessories for it: the cod (direct object addition), an enameled ceramic over-top which transforms the bishop into a real side table, the peanut, a walnut top that places on two bishops to make one and the cocktail, another glazed ceramic tray that transforms the bishop into a cocktail table. The bishop embellishes interiors as well as exteriors. Gueridon or stool, in a living room or in a bedroom, its determining characteristic is its versatility – it is imposed in any place as a domestic emblem while defending its queen. This piece is hand made, cast and glazed in our workshops in france by ceramist artisans. Made in france.
