Sergio Mazza 'Tau' pendant for Artemide, Italy, 1960s

Sergio Mazza designed the 'Tau' pendant for Artemide in 1960. This early Artemide model, shown at the XII Triennale, features nickel-plated brass, varnished metal, and pressed glass. The lamp balances a flared, black-varnished metal shade with a prismatic pressed-glass diffuser, secured by a nickel-plated brass ring. With a diameter of 42 cm, it offers presence without excess. The piece is preowned, showing light patina and minor marks consistent with age. The wiring is original and should be checked for current standards. This pendant is valued for its mid-century Italian design and historical significance.
