Eames chair customised by an artist, circa 2000

Eames chair whose shell has undergone an artistic intervention, carried out on an old shell and then completely covered with a new layer of transparent resin. The composition covers the backrest with a profusion of drawn and coloured patterns, layered over the dark surface of the shell. The whole has then been re-resined, encasing the decor under a thick and glossy finish, transforming the chair into a unique piece. This intervention repurposes an iconic model of 20th-century design, turning it into an object at the boundary between furniture and artwork. Artist unidentified. Unique piece.
