Rare and spectacular Lalique Duncan No. 2 bottle in transparent and satin crystal. This piece replicates the famous Duncan No. 2 model, created by René Lalique in 1931, reference 624, inspired by the American dancer Isadora Duncan. The bottle features a remarkable rectangular architecture typically Art Deco, consisting of several raised geometric frames. In the centre, on each of the two sides, there is a satin relief decoration depicting three nude dancers in motion. The contrast between the perfectly transparent crystal and the satin figures gives the piece a particularly elegant depth and presence. Details. House: Lalique. Model: Duncan No. 2. Reference: 624. Original creation: René Lalique, 1931. Period of this example: later Lalique production, probably 1970s. Country: France. Material: transparent and satin moulded crystal/glass. Dimensions: approximately 20 cm in height. Stopper: rectangular frosted crystal. Signature: Lalique France engraved on the base. Labels: Cristal Lalique Paris / Made in France. The presence of the Lalique France engraving, the original labels, and the rectangular stopper corresponding to this production allows this example to be distinguished from the early Duncan bottles produced around 1931, which have a different type of stopper.
