Bronze birds

Ancient bronze statuettes depicting cranes placed on turtles. Animals of foremap in asian symbolism, the crane is a symbol of wisdom and longevity. It is associated here with the turtle, itself renowned for its long life. Very decorative, they are patinated and in fairly good condition. Note: the cranes are embedded in the shells of the turtles but are not welded, so care must be taken to hold the whole from below so as not to make the turtle fall. It is possible that there is something missing on what one of the cranes holds in its spout (see photos). The largest measures about 28 cm, the second 26 cm.
