Napoleon III wedding globe with oak base

When I found this beautiful antique glass globe, it was unfortunately missing its base. In general it is the base that survives the glass, but not this time! And that's fortunate, because you can redo a base, but today it is very difficult and / or expensive to blow a large globe like this. So I had a custom base redone by a local craftsman, very talented, passionate and passionate. In a very beautiful wood, a light oak with a nice veining. The base weighs heavy, the glass is embedded on it, so the whole will be very stable. I asked my craftsman to leave it natural, so you can choose the finish that suits you (natural, oiled, dark stained, black lacquered... I can also ask him to do a finish on request for about ten euros, let's talk before order). The globe is large, it probably dates from the 19th century, napoleon III era. It was called a bridal globe, because they put "relics" to offer as a souvenir to the bride and groom. But today it can be diverted in many ways, to exhibit small plants, some trinkets, a dry bouquet, a contemporary sculpture... The globe is well preserved, neither crack nor shine, but does not hide some signs of its age: some marks and stripes that do not jump to the eyes, a small area of 2cm² with several small visible stripes, fortunately rather located on one side. It also contains 3 or 4 air bubbles, but this is original and a sign that it is blown glass. The edge of the globe is not smooth, it has roughness, also original. The globe measures 39 cm in height, its base measures 30 cm by 19 cm, the new base measures 32 cm by 21.5 cm for a thickness of 5 cm. The 2 assemblies measure about 43 cm in height. The base weighs 1.7 kg, and the globe about 1.1 kg. I will prefer a hand delivery or delivery by cocolis, for security reasons.
