Free-Span FS 123 Armchair – France, 1954. FS 123 armchair published by Free-Span in France in 1954, representative of post-war French design. Structure in blonde beech with very sculptural lines: high inclined backrest, curved armrests, and tapered legs. Beneath the cushion, the armchair reveals its characteristic Free-Span suspension system, composed of a graphic network of springs and metal elements. The model is notably documented in La Maison Française, no. 105, March 1957. In good vintage condition, with signs of use and patina related to its age. One flaw: the left rear tenon is slightly out. Upholstery in textured light beige fabric. Structure and suspension system visible in detail in the photos. An armchair that is both very comfortable and remarkably visually light, whose design remains surprisingly contemporary more than 70 years after its creation. Dimensions: H. 93 × W. 65 × D. 80 cm. Price: €720.
