Vintage floor lamp in wood and aged brass

Magnificent floor lamp in wood and aged brass that belonged to my 96-year-old grandfather. A true vintage, he hadn't bought anything for decades. I love it, but the style doesn't fit at all in my new, very modern house. The base and body are made of real wood, but my grandfather is no longer around to tell me what wood it is. It has a light dimmer (black box on the ground in the photo) to provide you with variable intensity lighting. The head of the floor lamp is tiltable.
