Blue flamed sandstone box of the faïence héraldique de pierrefonds, a factory founded in 1903 by count charles henri olivier hallez d'arros (1842-1910). Specializing in its beginnings in "arms and patents on earthenware", the factory gradually develops a line of sandstone art, with pieces coated with flaming and crystallized enamels. These sandstones won a silver medal at the 1925 exhibition of decorative arts. This box in perfect condition, which appears in the 1928 catalogue, is marked under the base: "380" for the model and the hollow mark of the factory, composed of a knight's head with a stamp between the letters "f" and "h" which take up the initials of the herraldic faïencerie, with "pierrefonds" underneath.
