Art Deco toilet set "Pistole", Salins, E. Charbonnier

Description: Beautiful antique toilet set in Art Deco style, produced by the famous pottery of Salins-les-Bains (France). The "Pistole" model features a bold and bright design, typical of the interwar period. It showcases a rhythmic geometric frieze composed of dark green solid semi-circular patterns combined with parallel lines. The body of the jug and the inside of the basin are animated by a distinctive central motif with interlocking curved shapes in bright orange, elegantly contrasting with the cream background of the pottery. This set includes two matching pieces with the modernist and geometric decor characteristic of the 1920s-1930s: • A large jug (pouring jug): Dimensions 24 X 22 cm (with handle) • A large basin (bowl): Dimensions 10 cm X 31.5 cm. Condition: The jug is in excellent display condition. The front is perfectly intact and without cracks. There is a natural crazing of the glaze as well as a few discreet small chips from use under the base. The basin has a clear and through crack visible on one edge (see last two photos).
