Square travertine coffee table by claude berraldacci. The model is called "saturn" because the top is like a ring that seems to float around its central axis. Rounded edges of the 4 corners of the top. Rare model in perfect condition. The last photo shows the suspension principle with the top placed on a square of glass itself fixed on by the central column. This table comes directly from the studio of the designer claude berraldacci, who designed it in the 90s. The brand was called "la pierre haute couture". The stone is the purest of all travertine. It comes from the tivoli quarry near rome, from which the vatican buildings, the colosseum or the trevi fountain are extracted. The travertine from this region is very pure, with few veins and a very light color. They are not afraid of stains. The stone is worked with berraldacci's great expertise, which allows for a "softened travertine": a natural, matte appearance, soft to the touch. His work highlights the timeless dimension of his pieces, which harmonize with all styles of decoration (a phrase usually clichéd but which is true for travertine). Penultimate photo from the catalog. Last photo: portrait of claude berraldacci. Height of the top: 30. Height of the central base: 36 cm.
