Bayel crystal ashtray

The bayel glassworks was established in 1666 and obtained royal privileges and supplied the court until 1727. It was only in the 1950s that it gradually became a crystalworks, employing more than 600 people in the 1970s to produce high-quality crystal, with a beautiful shine thanks to its high lead content (27%) before closing its doors for good in 2016. This ashtray dates from the 1960s or 1970s. It is in good general condition, no cracks or chips but has minimal signs of use: a few small scratches or marks that are barely visible. It measures approximately 15 cm in diameter and a maximum height of 6 cm.
