Roy lichtenstein (1923 -1997), the water lilies. Lithograph signed in the plate, published by the New York gallery castelli graphics (in operation from 1969 to 1997), stamp on the back. Limited edition on 150, numbered in pencil (29) Printed by styria studio (ny) - dry stamp. The "water lilies" of Lichtenstein are a group of six works that form a series to pay tribute to the paintings of water lilies by the impressionist artist Claude Monet. These innovative works were made on stainless steel to appear as reflected as water. Lichtenstein had a long-standing fascination with reflections that he explored as a motif in many other engravings and paintings. We are here on a lithographic reproduction.
