Terrine dish "crab" signed "for Caugant by H. Herbenstein" Michel Caugant is not a ceramist but a butcher who had the idea, in the 1960s, to offer his terrines in zoomorphic ceramic dishes. Since then, these terrine dishes have become collector's items. Hand-painted and glazed ceramic. Dimensions: L20 X W16 X H8cm. Very good overall condition, nice shine, no cracks, note a small missing glaze that has been restored (see detail photo with circle annotation), interior glaze slightly crazed, particularly in the lid. Careful shipping.
