Cast iron fish trivet

Very beautiful oval enamelled cast iron trivet representing fish and a water lily in an aquatic environment. The details have been taken care of: fine design with lots of reliefs which almost bring it to life on the table! When we think that it is a utilitarian object, whose main use is to receive hot dishes which will therefore hide this beautiful decor! This one has the particularity of having a small holed relief at the back, allowing you to pass a string through it for example and thus hang it on the kitchen wall when you are not using it or in a collection with others for an original decor! Its off-white, ecru color leans slightly towards beige in the hollows, further reinforcing its pretty details. Originally, the feet underneath were set with small cork pads, like probably all coasters of this type and period, but I only discovered it today because this one still had one, unlike all the others that I could see (see last photo where I put it back in place). I'll provide it with it, so you might be able to find some more for him or at least you'll have one more trace of his story to tell to all who admire him. In a rather art nouveau style, I suppose that it dates from the first half of the 20th century, but as it does not contain any marks, I cannot further my research on it and certify this. It is in very good general condition for its age, no chip on the enameling except on the end of two of its feet and rare small marks or abrasions from use. It measures 24 cm by 17.5 cm with a height of 2 cm.
