Scandinavian birch and elm flower stand, 1940s

Birch and elm plant stand with a curved structure, characterised by turned spherical elements, a slatted surface and circular side supports. Scandinavian production, 1940s. Made in Scandinavia in the 1940s, this birch and elm plant stand features an unusual construction in which slender linear elements alternate with curved profiles and a succession of small turned wooden spheres. Arranged along the uprights and crosspieces, these details create a recurring decorative motif that gives the structure a particularly distinctive rhythm. Two circular supports are positioned at either end, while the upper section is formed by a series of parallel slats. Designed for displaying plants and flowers, it belongs to the Swedish blombord typology, characteristic of Scandinavian domestic interiors of the period. Good condition. It may show signs of age.
