Set 4 mid century 1960’s chairs by Maurice Burke for Arkana

A set of very rare, stamped Arkana chairs. Very unusual as the upper shell is the same as the Arkana ’Tulip’ chair, but there are 4 legs rather than a single stem. Not being able to find any examples, we were intrigued and contacted Maurice Burke’s estate. After seeing the chairs and carrying out some research, they confirmed that they were a Maurice Burke design especially adapted with four legs for the US market. The upper shell is moulded fibreglass, with a reinforced gloss plastic bonded finish. The bright red cushions are original. Size Width 47cm x depth 54cm x height 79cm x seat height 47cm Condition: Very good mid century condition, only minor signs of wear reflecting age and use.
