Set of 6 Arne Wahl Iversen for Glyngøre Mobelfabrik Chairs new uplholstery

A beautiful set of six Danish dining chairs, designed by Arne Wahl Iversen for Glyngøre Stolefabrik. With their refined teak wood frame, organic lines, and characteristic curved backrest, these chairs are a striking example of Danish modernism from the 1960s. Arne Wahl Iversen (1927–2016) belongs to the intriguing generation of Danish designers who further developed Scandinavian furniture design after World War II. While Danish modernism is known for simplicity, functionality, and a focus on natural materials, Wahl Iversen added a pronounced sense of form and proportion. His designs are elegant without being aloof and combine clear construction with an unexpectedly sculptural appearance. Notably, the beautifully shaped backrest stands out. The gentle curve gives the chair a natural, almost embracing look while providing a comfortable sitting experience. The slender teak frame is carefully proportioned, with elegantly shaped legs and flowing connections. Nothing is superfluous; each component plays both a functional and aesthetic role. The chairs are fully restored. The wooden frame has been completely renovated and treated again, while the seats are equipped with new filling and new upholstery. A high-quality, light-coloured cream wool mix from Oniro has been chosen. The calm, natural shade enhances the warm character of the teak while giving the chairs a contemporary look. An exceptionally fine set for a stylish Scandinavian interior, but also beautiful as a contrast within a modern, minimalist, or eclectic decor.
