A character created by the legendary cartoonist greg (1931-1999), achille talon, the perfect archetype of the average french with the verb généreux..., appears for the first time on november 7, 1963 in issue 211 of the newspaper pilote. He was, at the very beginning, only a secondary hero that rené goscinny, then editor-in-chief, used as a filler for unsold advertising space. But very quickly, the adventures of this anti-hero franchouillard are acclaimed by the public. Éditions dargaud published the first album in 1966. This was the beginning of a series that has since become cult. During his lifetime, greg had appointed two great cartoonists to continue the adventures of achille talon: roger widenlocher and david moski.
