Superb murano glass sommerso diamond-shaped catchall/ashtray by flavio poli for seguso vetri d'arte (murano, italy, 1960s/1970s). Made of thick brown, yellow and transparent glass. Perfectly works as an ashtray, a vide poche, a catchall or just as a display piece on any table. It is extremely decorative. Height: 6.3 cm; length: 13 cm; width: 13 cm. Excellent vintage condition. No chips, no cracks, no flea bites. "sommerso" (italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a transparent layer.
