Italian modernist shelf in teak and Carrara marble, 1950s

Italian modernist shelf from the 1950s made of teak and Carrara marble. A low and long piece with a bold design that plays on its apparent structure. Its strong point is the joinery. Teak uprights and crosspieces intersect at the corners, allowing their tenons to protrude as small cubes, which add rhythm to the entire structure. Two white marble shelves veined with grey form the two levels. The contrast between the warm teak and the cold marble gives the piece its character. With a height of 45 cm and a length of 122 cm, it serves as a beautiful low console, a piece for a turntable and vinyl records, or a shelf under a window.
