Rattan wicker basket large toy chest

If your children's room is invaded by soft toys and dolls, this beautiful and very large old wicker basket is for you! It can contain a very large number of them! It could also be used to contain the cushions of the seats of the terrace on rainy days, or the linen of a very large family in the bathroom. I found it in a very old house, it is at least 60 years old, but most probably even much more. I cleaned it carefully, first a dust removal with a brush and vacuum, then a leaching with a brush and white vinegar, which has the advantage, in addition to reviving the wicker, to act as a natural insecticide. It is still solid, but does not hide its age and the traces of many years of use: deformations, some broken or damaged strands, some beetle holes, some stains or various marks, abrasions. The wicker of one of the handles is damaged but the handle still holds very well. The lid does not fit on the basket. Is it due to the deformation of the basket over time. I do not think so. Indeed, when I hunted it was still attached by a single thin frayed link to the basket, so I think it was not intended to fit on the top of the basket, just close to roughly "cover" the basket. This basket measures 68 cm long, 49 cm wide, 43 cm high, the lid measures 74 cm by 50 for a height of 7 cm. The set must weigh between 5 and 8 kg.
