Wingback armchair – Louis XVI period – Grey lacquered wood with highlights – Damask silk

Earred bergère from the Louis XVI period in carved wood, lacquered grey and highlighted, with a characteristic enveloping frame. The structure features carved mouldings of floral motifs and scrolls; the legs are finely crafted cabriole style. The upholstery is made of damask silk with large floral patterns in white and ivory beige tones, accented with golden braids. The seat is equipped with a separate, rounded cushion. The underside reveals period jute straps in relatively good condition, attesting to the authenticity of the craftsmanship. Workshop observation: visible wear of the grey paint on the backrest and frame. Slight structural instability reported by the seller; the item is not suitable for daily use in its current state. Restoration and structural reinforcement are possible upon request by our workshops. Dimensions: H. 93 cm – W. 45 cm – Seat height: 45 cm – Weight: 15 kg.
