Fumi coffee table, designed by japanese designer isamu kenmochi in the 1960s and produced by tendo mokko. This table is distinguished by its two sculpted side uprights supporting a thick rectangular top, all made of keyaki wood. Designed with sobriety and balance in mind, it perfectly illustrates the formal language developed by isamu kenmochi within the japanese modernist movement. Originally designed for traditional interiors, it was notably used in the rooms of the atami garden hotel, and is also known as a "japanese-style desk." its low height and open structure make it a functional piece, adaptable to different uses. Provenance: hotel in kanagawa, japan edition: tendo mokko, circa 1965. Bibliography: kenmochi isamu: japanese modern. Retrospective, 2004, similar model pp. 89 and 192.
