Designer: danish art deco design. Manufacturer: unknown. Country: Denmark. Date: 1930s. Material: wool upholstery with golden oak and beech wood frame. Maximum dimensions: width 76cm, depth 92cm, height 86cm and seat height 39cm. Condition: excellent with only small signs of use. Description: an elegant danish 1930s art deco club lounge chair. There are two of these identical chairs available, with the price being shown for one chair. Please note we also have a matching 3 seat sofa to accompany these chairs, which can be found in a separate listing. The chair is upholstered in a rich teal blue coloured wool, with contrasting braid detail to the edges of the piece. The backrest of the piece is also ribbed, this being typical of art deco design. This particular chair features a stunning golden oak frame, with carvings and scrolling to the fronts of the arms. Like the majority of all deco pieces, the chair is raised upon a heavy beech wood frame, with the backrest and seat base being heavily sprung on traditional coil springs. The piece also stands on two oak stepped feet to the front and two plain block feet to the rear. Purchased in denmark, this design classic is an original piece of mid century furniture.
