Italian chest of drawers from the 50s

The la permanente furniture consortium, founded and strongly desired in 1893 on the initiative of a group of qualified craftsmen from cantù. The objective was to join forces in order to present their products to the public, then mainly milanese, in a single large building. It was and remained an important moment of coming together for its members, useful for the comparison and exchange of experiences and knowledge. Experiences and knowledge that have contributed to the affirmation of cantù furniture throughout the world. The recognized professionalism of the members of the consortium based mainly on the imitation of styles of the past, brought to cantù around the 1930s authoritative and extraordinary representatives not only of italian architectural culture with whom they had the opportunity to compare and to renew themselves through important projects that are formally very different from those created until then. Projects that will decree the beginning of lasting collaborations and give impetus to glorious initiatives such as the selective furniture exhibitions, events that have contributed to making cantù the center of international design. Great designers like gio ponti, carlo di carli and paolo buffa contributed with his designs.
