Large world map coffee table in wood, brass, and glass, 1970s.

Large vintage coffee table probably dating from the 1960s-70s, notable for its top decorated with an antique world map representing the two hemispheres. The map, in beautiful shades of blue-green and ecru, is protected by a large glass top and surrounded by a patinated brass frame. The structure and four straight legs are made of wood, enhanced with brass details and reinforcements. With its length of 140 cm, this table has a real presence and makes a lovely decorative piece for a vintage, eclectic, or curiosity cabinet-style living room. It has been kept in its original condition, with a natural patina consistent with its age: marks and variations in shade on the wood, patina, and some traces of verdigris on the brass. The glass top is intact, with no chips or cracks, and shows some signs of use. The world map also has one or two slight old moisture marks along the edges.
