Description
Vintage design fauteuil. Set of two midcentury modern kay korbing chairs for fibrex denmark. The chairs were designed in 1956 and have a compressed molded plastic composite shell with new cushions. The foam inside the cushions is new and all are re-upholstered with kvadrat basel no. 123, in line with the original upholstery specification. The composite shell has been professionally spray painted using the original green colour in a matte finish. We like the simplicity of these chairs however the detail in certain aspects is remarkable, for instance the tapered legs that narrow down to the feet. Each chair is marked underneath designed by kay korbing - made by fibrex denmark. The two chairs are in very good vintage condition. Only the feet have some oxidation marks. Kvadrat: basel no. 123. Kvadrat basel is a furniture fabric that radiates quality; the beautiful, slightly open weave gives the fabric a beautiful appearance. The fabric consists of 10% nylon and 90% wool. Extremely suitable for upholstering design furniture. This fabric is only available in special, specific shades of white and gray.
