Scandinavian mid-century teak coffee table, number 1255, made in denmark, designed by johannes andersen for cfc silkeborg around the 60s. The piece consists of a single curved piece of solid teak on top and rests on two t-shaped teak legs. The borders on the width are rounded and smooth with a darker finish. They are flat on the depth side. Johannes andersen was deeply attracted to organic forms and fluid lines. He transformed traditionally square or rectangular panels and surfaces of furniture – such as coffee table tops and the backs of dining chairs – into sleek, imaginative designs with rounded edges and flowing contours. The piece is in good original and vintage condition with some light antique marks and signs of age and previous use, a patina of age and time and some marks of time fading on a top corner (see photos next to the 1 cent coin for perspective), feet, borders and general structure (see photos). The stamp of the furniture manufacturer as well as the model number are present (see photos). The table is solid and stable. It has been cleaned, oiled with organic linseed oil and waxed with natural beeswax in keeping with its original patina. Photos taken outdoors to show maximum color and brightness variations depending on the angle of view. Top measurements: maximum width: 170 cm, minimum width: 138 cm, maximum depth (large side): 77 cm, minimum depth (small side): 55 cm.
