Here is a charming stoneware jug in a chic country style, rustic yet elegant, without embellishments. It has a lovely shape, well-proportioned. Its glazing, which appears uniform at first glance, shows beautiful variations, a speckled khaki beige with chocolate and a froth of grey leaning towards blue. And it has a particularity: it features a "seam," a line visible under the base and on the body that suggests it was made, not by throwing clay, but by assembling two longitudinal halves, which is uncommon. In any case, it is a lovely piece of craftsmanship, probably from the 1960s or 70s. The neck, too narrow to fit a hand, does not allow for proper and easy cleaning, so I will reserve it for decorative or collectible use, or to water green plants, or to hold a lovely bouquet of dried flowers. It is in generally good condition, with no cracks, but it has a small chip on the inside at the edge of the opening. It measures 20 cm in height, 17 cm in width from handle to belly, and 12.5 cm in diameter.
