Rare lounge chair with its matching ottoman, designed by Tage Poulsen in Denmark. Architect, furniture designer, and Danish artist, Tage Poulsen is known for his unique and powerful creations in solid wood, now associated with Scandinavian brutalism. Chairs accompanied by their original ottoman are very rare in the vintage market. The structures are made of solid oak and follow a clear and additive construction principle: the armrests are formed from horizontal boards, the supporting structure from vertical boards, while the backrest consists of vertical slats. This results in a powerful and architectural formal language, where each element remains visible – finely crafted, yet deliberately archaic in its form. The seat and back cushions, placed freely, are made of thick brown-red leather. Generously filled with foam, they offer excellent comfort, and the warm leather contrasts beautifully with the light oak. The cushion of the ottoman is also removable: the stool serves as a footrest or additional seat – an ideal reading nook when paired with the chair. We also offer a second identical chair as well as the large coffee table from the same series, fully assembled without screws in solid oak, with a lift-top and storage. In separate listings, the pieces are also offered as a complete set. Condition: very good vintage condition – stable oak structures with only slight signs of use due to age, leather cushions with a beautiful natural patina. Chair dimensions: approximately 87 × 85 × 75 cm; ottoman: approximately 68 × 73 × 40 cm (width × depth × height).
