Joseph lipp (often written josef lipp) was a german artist who lived and worked all his life on the family estate in weißensee. He was unable to attend school due to economic reasons and taught himself woodcut from the age of 18. Besides oil painting, he also used the technique of copper engraving. The central theme of his art was the alpine landscapes of allgäu. More than 100 of his works are listed in the alpenhistorical archive of alpenvereine in germany, austria and südtirol.
