Spectacular, silkscreen , signed, numbered, framed, by the famous Spanish designer, sculptor and painter, José Maria de Labra from 1972.With a background in architecture, de Labra was one of the first generations of artists who worked on abstraction and constructivism in Spain in the 1950s. This screen printing is representative of his work as he moved from a place of spirituality and religious themes, with a play of intense curves, lights and shadows, evolving towards a geometric expression, where he began to incorporate objects of spatial geometry. This piece is in excellent original condition because it has been well maintained. This is the "145/150" edition which is written in pencil on the lower left edge of the circle. On the lower right edge of the image, its signature "LABRA" and the date "72", signed in pencil. The image seems to have been made with a giant spyrograph, with geometric shapes and lines. The dark color of the background, in contrast to the other colors, makes the focus of the piece, really "pop". What makes this work of art even more special is that it was used as the official poster of the 4th Cagnes-sur-Mer International Painting Festival in France in 1972.The service chart was framed behind a glass, which protected the bright colors and background. There are no shards or cracks on the glass. The back of the frame, has its original paper and crochet thread, which are also in good condition. The chocolate-brown frame shows slight signs of time use, but no cracks that compromise the integrity of the room. There is a mark on the upper right side of the frame, and another on the left (photos next to a 1-cent coin for perspective). This is the latest in a series of 4 silkscreen prints I had. Superb piece for vintage deco, optical art in the living room, bedroom, entrance or other.
