Description
Large lithograph framed under glass. "The Wedding of Cana" engraved by Z Prevost after the work of Paul Veronese and published by Goupil et Cie in Paris at the end of the 19th century. The Wedding at Cana, famous painting with which Paul Veronese transposes the biblical story of Christ's first miracle (the transformation of water into wine) on the scene of a sumptuous Venetian banquet. Exceptional in its size as well as its quality of execution and attention to detail. It is sold with its original Napoleon 3 black and gold frame. Note some small accidents on the frame and some wear defects (see photos). Despite everything, it is in very good condition for its age. Goupil et cie was one of the main French art dealers and publishers of the 19th century. Dimensions: Frame: 116 cm X 93 cm. Engraving at sight: 90 cm X 66cm. Delivery possible to be agreed.
