Pair of modernist candlesticks in solid brass, with a very marked geometric structure. Each candlestick rests on a thick hexagonal base, from which rises a slender central shaft, extended by two inclined arms forming a Y-shaped composition. The conical cups, with narrow necks, hold three candles per piece. The set is made of deliberately unpolished gilded brass, retaining its original patina and traces of green oxidation visible in the candle holders. Probably from liturgical or ecclesiastical use in Southern Europe (Italy or Spain), these candlesticks present scratches of use, some marks of oxidation and a slight deformation on one of the cups, without affecting the stability or presentation. ________________________________________ TECHNICAL DETAILS: • Designer: unattributed • Maker: unidentified, probably Southern Europe • Period: circa 1960 • Materials: solid brass • Finish: original unpolished patina, natural oxidation ________________________________________ DIMENSIONS: • Height: 21 cm (8.2 in) • Width: 20 cm (7.9 in) • Base depth: 10 cm (3.9 in) • Total weight: approximately 1.2 kg ________________________________________ CONDITION: Vintage condition with visible traces of age.
